The track was received positively by various online music blogs and national press such as the NME.

The demo of the song was leaked in late 2015.

About the song Edit

AURORA wrote this when she was 11 or 12. It's a song about escape and "realizing you want to get home again." In an interview with The 405 she said: "It's strange how this song fits my life better now that I could ever imagine when I wrote the song itself. It's about how important it is to have a soft place to fall". [1]

For her, it is a song about the actual home where her parents live.

Lyrics Edit

I was listening to the ocean
I saw a face in the sand
But when I picked it up
Then it vanished away from my hands
I had a dream I was seven
Climbing my way in a tree
I saw a piece of heaven
Waiting, patiently, for me

And I was running far away
Would I run off the world someday?
Nobody knows, nobody knows
And I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive and I can't complain

But now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I can't take it anymore

I was painting a picture
The picture was a painting of you
And for a moment I thought you where here
But then again, it wasn't true
And all this time I have been lying
Lying in secret to myself
I've been putting sorrow on the farest place on my shelf

And I was running far away
Would I run off the world someday?
Nobody knows, nobody knows
And I was dancing in the rain
I felt alive and I can't complain

But now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I got no other place to go
Now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I got no other place to go
Now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I can't take it anymore

But I kept running for a soft place to fall
And I kept running for a soft place to fall
And I kept running for a soft place to fall
And I kept running for a soft place to fall

And I was running far away
Would I run off the world someday?

But now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I got no other place to go
Now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I got no other place to go

Now take me home, home where I belong
Now take me home, home where I belong
Now take me home, home where I belong
Now take me home, home where I belong
I can't take it anymore

And I felt like rain is falling down
I felt like a stone against the ground
This emptiness inside my heart
Has been there from the start

I felt like rain is falling down
I felt like a stone against the ground
This emptiness inside my soul
Has been there all along

But I kept running
I kept running home
And I kept running
For a soft place to fall

And I was running far away
Would I run off the world someday?

But now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I got no other place to go
Now take me home
Take me home where I belong
I got no other place to go

Now take me home, home where I belong
Now take me home, home where I belong
Now take me home, home where I belong
Now take me home, home where I belong
I can't take it anymore
